A Season Of Giving

CREEKSIDE HOLIDAY ART AND CRAFT SHOW

What: Creekside's 13th annual Craft Fair features over 30 local artists selling handmade items. Part of the proceeds from the show will benefit Centerforce Oakland, an organization that strives to improve the lives and strengthen the communities of incarcerated people and their loved ones. You can help by attending the show, volunteering as a greeter, wrapping gifts, selling raffle tickets, or helping with the Chili Cook-Off.
When: December 2nd from 11:00 a.m.-7:00 p.m. and December 3rd from 10:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.

COX ACADEMY STAFF LUNCHEON

What: Prepare and serve a holiday luncheon to the lovely staff at Cox Academy Elementary School in East Oakland.
When: December 8th from 9:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m.

Help Washington Elementary Families

What: Washington Elementary Principal Alvarez conducted an anonymous needs assessment for family support over the holidays and over 50 families responded with needs including clothing, shoes, food, and toys. Creekside has "adopted" ten children ages 5-11. You can buy clothing, shoes, and toys for one of these children. A list of their ages, shoe sizes, and toy suggestions will be available at the Information Desk.

HOPE FOR THE HOMELESS

What: For the past 4 years, Creeksiders have packed gift bags with school supplies, gift cards, and small presents for homeless students at San Leandro High School. You can contribute items or money for the gift bags, shop for presents, or help pack the bags. 
When: Donations are due at Creekside on Sunday, December 11th. We will pack the bags and write cards to the students on December 11th during the second service.

STARLITE MOTEL MINISTRY

What: Creeksider Lucy Stokely and friends have started a new outreach at the Starlite Motel on MacArthur Blvd. in Oakland. They visit once a month to share the love of Christ. They are collecting items for care packages for those living at the motel temporarily or long term. You can help by visiting the motel on December 11th or by donating matchbox cars, heavy slipper socks, travel sized toiletries, and gift cards from Target, Walmart, or Safeway.

Jones Nursing Home

What: Bless the sweet residents and staff of Jones Nursing Home in San Leandro as we sing, play games, and pray. Children are welcome!
When: Thursday, December 15th from 10:30-11:15 a.m.

San Lorenzo Family Help Center

What: This food pantry ministers to low income families in San Lorenzo. You can donate non-perishable foods and place them in the designated container in the Creekside lobby. You can also volunteer at the food pantry.

San Leandro Warming Shelter

What: The San Leandro Warming Shelter at First United Methodist Church provides space for the homeless to stay on cold and wet nights. You can donate new sleeping bags and new t-shirts, socks, and sweats for men and women to be distributed at the shelter.
When: November 25th-April 30th
